Whirligig vs Speak.

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:52 pm by pinkdomo

Contrary to what you had probably expected, I don’t relate to Brent or Melinda in any way. Sorry authors.

I understand that both of the audiences for these books are “young adult”, therefore meaning that we should be able to connect to them, but……..really?

I have never went to a party with alcohol, so forget about getting drunk.

Thoughts of suicide? C’mon guys, death is not the solution to your problems.

Gotten raped? No, actually, and I certainly hope I will never ever have to connect with Melinda in that way.

But if I HAD to pick one of the two that I had connected with more, I would have to say Melinda.

She’s a teenager. She’s had some emotional rollercoasters. Oh, and she’s a girl.

What can I say? I think that last bit was really ALL that I connected to.

Physical, Mental, and Emotional Journeys

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:01 pm by pinkdomo

As of now, emotional journeys are most important in my life. Like any other highschooler, I’ve been through a lot of experiences and events that have shaped and changed me on an emotional level from the first day of high school, to now.

I’m not saying that I haven’t taken any physical or mental journeys though; I think I’ve definently put on some weight from those fries at lunch and those vending machines. Oh, and I have been learning in class. Promise.

Woman eating french fries Yup, that’s pretty much all I do other when I’m not going through emotional journeys.

I should start going on more physical journeys. Now, where did that treadmill go…..

My New Year’s Resolution.

Posted in Uncategorized at 4:33 pm by pinkdomo

Honestly, I forgot to think of a New Year’s Resolution.

Whoops, sorry guys. Haha, maybe this is just me, but I still remember when I used to make a list of New Year’s Resolutions, and be so determined to follow them for the rest of the year. Which of course,  didn’t work…

But, I’m okay. I mean, pfft, sleep, who needs that? me. Anyways, since this blog IS about New Year’s Resolutions, I might as well make some right on the spot. Well, here I goo.

1)Get off facebook.

2)Get good grades and study harder for tests.

3)Grow.

4)Grow.

5)Grow.

Okayguys I think this sums up just about everything.

Commercials, Jingles, and Opera Music?

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:40 pm by pinkdomo

Thankgoodness I saw someone’s status and remembered to make my blog.

It’s been a long time, WordPress. I’ve missed you dearly.

Moving on, this blog is supposed to be about our favorite commercial, so here mine is (;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN9OKXtzHtE

See that link? Yeah, click on it.

That has got to be one of my favorite commercial ever, due to the absurd characters in it, the catchy opera music, and the casual setting. After the first time listening to it, I got the song stuck in my head.

That viking with eyeliner and eyeshadow makes me laugh everytime. Don’t take this the wrong way though, I’m not making fun of him. I think he looks beautiful.

Another one of my favorite commercials would have to be the Old Spice commercials.

I’m not going to stick a link in here though, because that means I would have to go find one on youtube. Then watch it. Then copy and paste it onto the blog.

……I get tired just even thinking about how much work that would take.

Finals, already?

Posted in Uncategorized at 5:04 pm by pinkdomo

stud·y/ˈstədē/ (n): The devotion of time and attention to acquiring knowledge on an academic subject, esp. by means of books.

Ohhh, so that’s why I never got along with that word.

Devotion of time and attention to acquire knowledge? Ehh, b-b-but there’s a computer in front of me. And all highschoolers know that computer has internet. And if you have internet, you have access to facebook and youtube. And access to facebook and youtube means……..no work done\:

Now, if only I had my computer.......

Sorry Ms. Lake, I’m not a big fan of reading(;

I’m getting offtrack here. I was supposed to give you guys study tips.

So, when I study, I just read the text over and over. However, I know that doesn’t work for everyone. So ,other times it’s best to connect it with your everyday , common events, objects, etc. Using acronyms help a lot too(:

What’s that? I didn’t help at ALL?

Yeahh, I know. If you need study tips, go ask someone else. Haha, good luck with finals, everyone!(:

The Stranger

Posted in Uncategorized at 3:30 pm by pinkdomo

Not having a blog last week really threw me off a bit. I almost forgot to write this one.

Me? Forget? Never.

Anyways, as our unit has finally come to an end, we have to write about our college bound book. For my college bound book, I read The Stranger by Albert Camus.

Honestly, I don’t recommend this book to elementary schoolers. As for middle schoolers and high schoolers? I say, go for it. I don’t see why you’d want to though.

Half way through the book I wanted to put it down and stop reading it. It wasnt that there was anything vulgar or gore or violence, it was just personality of the main character. Actually, let me rephrase that. It was just the nonexistent personality of the main character.

Was Monsieur Meursault to have a personality, most events that had happened in the book, could’ve been avoided. The indifference throughout the entire book just made me rather annoyed. I just can’t figure out why anyone would write a story about this. Haha,but of course, that’s just MY opinion(;

Maybe others that read it will find it interesting(:

So, what are you waiting for? Don’t let my opnion affect you from reading it. Get off the chair, grab your jacket, and head off to the library.

Thanksgiving Break (:

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:10 pm by pinkdomo

It’s finally that time of the year again. Thanksgiving(:

Now, I know the typical picture that comes to mind when someone thinks of the word ‘Thanksgiving’, it’s usually a large family, sitting around a table while laughing and talking.

But then, there’s always those people who just have a fat, juicy, turkey in mind.

And then again, there’s always people like……..me.

It’s usually during Christmas time or summer break when parents decide, “Let’s take our children on a vacation to Disney World !” For my family though? Why wait for Christmas? Let’s go during Thanksgiving.

So, large family/relative dinner? Nope.

Turkey and gravy? Forget about that.

Roller coasters and healthy family fun? There’s one thing that’s right(; Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining at all. I mean, who else wouldnt like spending their Thanksgiving break looking like

?

This is my picture of a perfect thanksgiving break.

Pigeons- Why Are They Such Terrorists In Our Daily Lives?

Posted in Uncategorized at 2:47 pm by pinkdomo

After reading the article, I really only had one reaction.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I would’ve never thought that pigeons could create such a problem in someone’s life. I mean, if there were an unsightly amount of them, then of course, try to relocate some. But the problem at hand isn’t even the amount of pigeons that appear here and there.

Nope, I'M the problem at hand.

Honestly, I feel like Liverpool’s city council is being just plain stupid unreasonable. Spending £160,000 a year just to clean poop off of roofs and streets? Oh ,sure no problem . Let’s just call for world peace while we’re at it.

Oh, and don’t even get me started on those “Robops”.

We just don't mix.

What was that? You say they sit there to scare pigeons away?

Waste of money.

One Unit Down, X more to go !(:

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:35 pm by pinkdomo

I can honestly say that I will miss these past two months.

As the unit started, I was rather upset. Why? We were told that we had to get used to speaking to the class.

Well, when I was in 4th grade, I threw up trying to present a project to my class. Not the best way to start out someone’s confidence in speaking to an open crowd.

So, I started out this unit, happiness shattered, and hopes crushed. I was scared and nervous the day of …….well, really anything.

The idea of a sorcratic seminar terrified me. A debate? Ohno, don’t even go there.

Now knowing my strong distaste for speaking to a large group, you’d be rather surprised to discover that, to the contary, I LOVED our debates. Yes, LOVED. I wasn’t just okay with them, but instead, I couldnt wait for our next one.

My favorite thing from this unit would probably be our Most Dangerous Game debate. I loved being the angry parent, being able to point out the flaws in the book.

I hope our next unit will be just as interesting(:

Halloween !

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:59 pm by pinkdomo

Tomorrow is October 31st, and in other words? It’s the day that kids all across America have been waiting for.

CHRISTMAS(: …….no,that’s in December. It’s Halloween!

I can't but my finger on it, but something isn't right.....

Halloween. Halloween. Halloween. Hal-

On a school night?  Well, this is new…

See, I’ve gone trick-or-treating ever since I was born.

This year though, I’m not too sure. I mean, with 2 tests on Tuesday &all:/

Honestly, I’m really disappointed about this. Why couldn’t we get Monday off? I mean, Lambert and other schools are out on monday, even though a lot of people don’t actually consider Halloween a holiday.

Well guys, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.

. . .

. . .

Ask her 5 year old neighbor to bring an extra bag to collect candy for her when he goes skips down the streets in a bedsheet.
